The delay I am experiencing could be specific to my Fastmail.com service.

  Can each of you (Betty, Helen, Jim & Nancy) please send a test to this list and observe how quickly you receive _your own_ email ?

  If NONE of you experiences a delay over (e.g.) 2 minutes, then this might work. Otherwise ....
